- In Dutch, the imperative is often used without a subject and is a direct form of command or request.

Exceptions!
- For some irregular verbs, such as 'zijn,' the forms change, as in 'Be quiet!' for 'be.'
- Sometimes the infinitive can also be used, such as "To wait!"
