The imperative mood is used for direct commands, requests, or instructions, without an explicit subject. For example: 'Walk,' 'Sit,' 'Help.'

Exceptions!

  1. For some irregular verbs, such as 'zijn,' the forms change, as in 'Be quiet!' for 'be.'
  2. Sometimes the infinitive can also be used, such as "To wait!"
