Exercise 1: Conversation exercise

Instruction:

  1. Zie je je vrienden vaak? Wat voor activiteiten doe je graag samen? (Do you see your friends often? What kind of activities do you like to do together?)
  2. Heb je liever feestjes of een bordspelavond samen? ( Do you prefer going to parties or doing board game night together?)
  3. Ben je ooit op reis geweest met je vrienden? Vertel ons erover! (Have you ever been on a trip with your friends? Tell us about it!)

Example phrases:

Ik zie mijn vrienden elke week. Meestal ontmoeten we elkaar voor koffie en praten we.

I see my friends every week. We usually meet for coffee and talk.

Ik zie mijn vrienden maar één of twee keer per maand. Dan gaan we meestal uit eten en spelen we samen spelletjes.

I only see my friends once or twice a month. Then we usually have dinner and play games together.

Ik ga liever uit als ik mijn vrienden zie.

I prefer going out when I see my friends.

Ik hou van het spelen van bordspellen, dus wanneer ik mijn vrienden zie, spelen we samen ludo.

I love playing board games, so whenever I see my friends we play ludo together.

Met mijn vriend Juán speel ik altijd schaak.

With my friend Juán I always play chess.

Instruction: Match the translations

Als je zin hebt in een spelletjesavond, kunnen we vrijdag kaartspelletjes spelen. (If you feel like having a games night, we can play card games on Friday.)
Wil je iemand uitnodigen? Roep dan gewoon een vriend of vriendin. (Do you want to invite someone? Then just call a friend.)
Als het buiten koud is, is een borrel thuis erg gezellig. (When it's cold outside, having a drink at home is very cosy.)
Als jij het diner klaarmaakt, zal ik de drankjes inschenken. (If you prepare the dinner, I will pour the drinks.)
