These exercises can be done together during conversation lessons or as homework.

Exercise 1: Conversation exercise

Instruction:

  1. Praat met de makelaar. Wat voor soort accommodatie wil je huren? (Talk to the real estate agent. What kind of accomodation do you want to rent? )
  2. Noem en beschrijf de soorten accommodaties op de foto's. Denk aan de prijzen. (Name and describe the types of accomodations in the pictures. Think about the prices. )

Can I rent the villa for the weekend? It is very big with a nice pool.

I want to rent a room in this hotel for two months.

Ik vind de huur te duur.

I think the rent is too expensive.

Ik geef de voorkeur aan het huren van een gedeelde kamer omdat het goedkoper is.

I prefer to rent a shared room because it is cheaper.

Ik woon graag met meer mensen. Dus ik wil een appartement delen, maar ik wil een eigen kamer.

I like to live with more people. So I want to share an appartment but I want a single room.
