Text and translation

1. Op zaterdagochtend zijn Emma en David naar de stad gegaan om enkele praktische zaken te regelen. On Saturday morning, Emma and David went to the city to take care of some practical matters.
2. Ze zijn eerst naar de apotheek geweest, die naast het ziekenhuis ligt. They first went to the pharmacy, which is next to the hospital.
3. Emma had medicijnen nodig, en gelukkig was de apotheek al vroeg open. Emma needed medicine, and luckily the pharmacy was open early.
4. Daarna zijn ze naar het postkantoor gelopen, tegenover de supermarkt. Afterwards, they walked to the post office, opposite the supermarket.
5. David heeft een brief verstuurd naar zijn kantoor. David sent a letter to his office.
6. Het postkantoor is dagelijks geopend vanaf 9 uur. The post office is open daily from 9 o'clock.
7. Na het postkantoor zijn ze verder gelopen naar de bibliotheek om een boek te lenen. After the post office, they continued walking to the library to borrow a book.
8. De bibliotheek was nog gesloten. De bibliotheek is altijd open van 11 uur 's morgens tot zes uur 's avonds. The library was still closed. The library is always open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
9. Ze moesten ook een brood kopen bij de bakker, naast de school op het plein. They also had to buy a loaf of bread at the baker's, next to the school in the square.
10. Daarna zijn zij nog naar de supermarkt geweest want die heeft een goede slagerij. Afterwards, they also went to the supermarket because it has a good butcher.
11. Na de boodschappen zijn ze vanuit het station met de bus naar huis gegaan. After the shopping, they went home by bus from the station.
