Conversation

1. Kleinkind: Hallo oma! Fijn je te zien. (Hello grandma! Nice to see you.)
2. Grootmoeder: Wat fijn dat je er bent, hoe gaat het met jouw ouders? (How nice that you are here, how are your parents?)
3. Kleinkind: Het gaat goed. Mijn vader werkt veel en mijn moeder studeert Italiaans. (It's going well. My father works a lot and my mother is studying Italian.)
4. Grootmoeder: En hoe oud is je broer nu? Al twintig? (And how old is your brother now? Already twenty?)
5. Kleinkind: Nee oma, mijn broer is pas achttien geworden. (No grandma, my brother just turned eighteen.)
6. Grootmoeder: Weet je al wanneer jullie kinderen krijgen, haha? (Do you already know when you will have children, haha?)
7. Kleinkind: Oma! Ik ben veel te jong. Ik ben pas vijfentwintig geworden. (Grandma! I'm much too young. I've only just turned twenty-five.)
8. Grootmoeder: Heb je de foto van je nicht gezien? Ze heeft al drie kinderen! Zes, acht en elf jaar oud. (Have you seen the photo of your cousin? She already has three children! Six, eight and eleven years old.)
9. Kleinkind: Ja nou, goed voor haar. Haar zoon lijkt echt op opa. (Well, good for her. Her son really looks like granddad.)
10. Grootmoeder: Komt zij met haar man vandaag ook langs met de kinderen? (Is she also coming by with her husband and the children today?)
11. Kleinkind: Dat weet ik niet. Zij wonen toch in Frankrijk? (I don't know. They live in France, don't they?)
12. Grootmoeder: Juist! Dat was ik vergeten. Zij hebben Franse lessen vandaag. (Right! I had forgotten that. They have French lessons today.)
