- Use 'deze' and 'dit' for things nearby, and 'die' and 'dat' for things farther away.
- The demonstrative pronoun corresponds with the gender and article of the word.

Exceptions!
- Diminutives always have the article 'het' and therefore always use 'dit' or 'dat'.
