Two friends, Lieke and Sam, have just arrived at a tiny house on Texel. They quickly discover that everything is multifunctional – and a bit cramped.

Conversation

1. Sam: Oké… ik open de deur, maar ik moet eerst over de bank stappen om binnen te komen. (Okay… I open the door, but I have to step over the sofa first to get inside.)
2. Lieke: Wacht, ik struikel bijna over de stoel… Waarom staat die zo dicht bij de tafel? (Wait, I'm almost tripping over the chair... Why is it so close to the table?)
3. Sam: Omdat anders de kast met de lamp niet meer in de woonkamer past. (Because otherwise the cupboard with the lamp won't fit in the living room anymore.)
4. Lieke: Serieus? Nou ja, ik sluit de deur, anders kan ik het toilet niet in. (Seriously? Oh well, I close the door, otherwise I can't get into the toilet.)
5. Sam: Dan moet je eerst de douchedeur sluiten, die zit er tegenaan. (Then you need to close the shower door first, it's up against it.)
6. Lieke: Tiny houses zijn net escape rooms… (Tiny houses are just like escape rooms…)
7. Sam: Hé, het raam boven het bed staat open, voel je dat? (Hey, the window above the bed is open, do you feel that?)
8. Lieke: Oh nee, dat moet dicht. Het waait, en straks ligt het bed vol zand. (Oh no, that needs to be closed. It's windy, and soon the bed will be full of sand.)
9. Sam: Ik sluit het raam. (I close the window.)
10. Lieke: En waar is mijn tas gebleven? (And where has my bag gone?)
11. Sam: Zelfs hier verlies je je spullen! Onder het bed, naast het toiletpapier en je tandenborstel. (Even here you lose your stuff! Under the bed, next to the toilet paper and your toothbrush.)
12. Lieke: Perfect. Ik zoek even in de kast, misschien ligt daar nog een goeie Texelse likeur. (Perfect. I'll have a look in the cupboard, maybe there's still a good Texel liqueur there.)
13. Sam: Haha, natuurlijk. Ik houd het bij Texelse koffie of een thee. (Haha, of course. I'll stick to Texel coffee or a tea.)
